A recent meeting held between Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh Enrico Nunziata at her Hasina’s office might bring some good news for the country’s leather sector.
Principal Secretary M Nojibur Rahman was present during the meeting.
She welcomed the newly appointed ambassador and assured government’s all out cooperation in discharging his duties. The meeting was focused on increasing the trade relations between the two countries.
“We need your cooperation in leather sector. Italian leather goods are good, Italians are very much careful about their leather goods,” said Hasina to Enrico.
Enrico also believes that Bangladesh has a huge potential and affirms in cooperating with the country for more trade and also promoting bilateral relations. It is to note here that Italy has formed a parliamentary group to promote relations and cooperation with Bangladesh.
“We have to explore areas of cooperation,” said Enrico while putting emphasis on increasing the relations between the chambers of commerce of the two countries.
During the meeting, the Italian ambassador also expressed the interest of setting up training centres for textile and other technologies in Bangladesh.
